Diwali is India's big festival. Diwali means rows of lighted lamps.

 It is a festival of lights and all Indian Hindus celebrate it.

It is celebrated to mark the return of Lord Ram from 14 years of exile and his victory over the demon Ravan. 

During this festival,people light up their homes and shops, to welcome the goddess of wealth and fortune, Lakshmi to welcome her in to give them good luck for the year ahead.  and Lord Ganesh for good welfare and prosperity.

 People believe that on this day, Hindu Goddess Laxmi enters only those houses which are neat and tidy. People offer prayers for their own health, wealth and prosperity. They leave the light on in buildings in their belief that Goddess Laxmi will find no difficulty in finding her way in.

People light up their houses,put diyas ,candles and burn crackers to mark it as returning of Lord Rama in happiness.

In the name of making the goddess happy people tend to pollute the environment as the firecrackers create a lot of pollution which is harmful for all living beings.

I,DONT SEE ANY ADVANTAGE IN BURNING CRACKERS.

Even when we know we are living in such a polluted country that the air we breathe is not less than toxic,inspite of any efforts of reducing the pollution levels the citizens of our county continue to burn the crackers and make the air we breathe more toxic and harmful.

As the world is getting more & more educated & civilized, we’re doing more & more meaningless & uncivilized works. Today, using cracker is becoming a fashion. Millions are spent on this worthless garbage stuff. Bursting crackers is turning to a competition & a status indicator. Many people feel proud to show off their wealth by investing thousands or even lakhs on this non-sense stuff. 

A considerable amount of crackers are used, in almost every part of the country.

 I really don’t understand why even educated persons do not understand the ill effects of global warming and the disadvantages of burning them. It’s a SHAME on our education.

 It’s nothing more than garbage. Then, why to use such a thing & hurt the entire planet & ourselves?

It is estimated that the annual U.S. carbon dioxide emissions from fireworks is 60,340 tons or the same emissions from 12,000 cars on the road for a year!! If one suggests that planting trees is a solution, then, please be informed that it’d take the entire lifetime of 5,000 trees to offset the 60,000 tons of carbon emissions produced in this one day!! Not only it pollutes the environment, it also causes many deadly air-borne diseases. It releases carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide to the atmosphere with serious health hazards.

The only condition for using crackers is the eco-friendly, carbon free, noiseless crackers which don’t affect us anyway. Still, it’s economically a waste, as it gives only ashes, & its prices are soaring up.

Also,it is every year noticed that the children are workers in the factories where these fireworks are made without any knowledge or guidance causing accidents almost every year.Inspite that people buy crackers,manufacturers make it because the demand is always the same and so doesn't get effected by anything as the government also merely take any strict action against them. 

The stray animals and pets also get effected by the noise of crackers.

Many are victims of burn injuries,vision loss and other injuries during Diwali

 However you describe the ill effects of crackers, every time you’d get something very bad or simply, worst. Crackers are unnoticeably affecting all of us. We should understand what it’s doing & how it’ll threaten our very existence in future.

i dont understand when there are so many reasons for not using crackers but not a single genuine reason for burning crackers why people burn them?

Are they waiting for the day when they will become a victim of one of the reasons??

Is the humanity dead ?or people don't want to think about it?

There are several questions to be answered...

The ignorance of people can destroy the environment and it is not of anybody but US,

SO WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR IT 

 Governments should take it very seriously & should:

• ban the production of crackers
• enforce laws on its production, sales, use, & advertisement
• popularize the idea of not using crackers among public

AND,

If the people necessarily wants the burning of crackers it can be done in a systematic manner by the government by burning only few crackers on the behalf of people at a  particular place so that both the matter of concern get solved,the Hindus get the burning of crackers if they regard significant in Diwali celebration and the pollution also reduces by lowering the amount of crackers burnt.

THE ENJOYMENT IS ONE SIDE

BUT 

THE THREAT TO LIFE IS ANOTHER SIDE

AND THE IMPORTANCE OF LIFE WILL ALWAYS DOMINATE THE CHOICE OF ENJOYMENT

There’re a lot of causes of global warming & pollution. All the other sources are important for our living despite their ill effects. But cracker is absolutely nothing more than garbage.

 Be smart, be civilized, use your knowledge, don’t worry about what others think, don’t care about society, & DON’T USE CRACKER.
